Against The Wall

Poppies are great subjects for their purety and simplicity, not to mention their frailty which can be used as a metaphor in many circumstances. Here, against the stark white wall they stand out brightly with the touch of green to attach them to the ground and to their roots.

You find them in the city but particularly along the railway lines on the steep slopes with nothing better to do than let wild seeds flourish. A joy to come across them, but they are so vulnerable - it sometimes makes me shiver.
