Drained

My latest adventure involves something so stupid, so imbecilic, that I'm not even going to go into it. Suffice it to say that my life had better change soon or I won't be around for long, and this photo is a pretty good metaphor for that: fragile beauty (that's me, folks!) teetering dangerously close the gaping chasm of oblivion...

Don't mean to scare you, but I speak through my photos you see, so I don't want to hold anything back in explaining them to you. As for the composition and all that stuff, I'll leave it to you to see if you think I got anything right. Another similar shot coming just above this one...

Actually, come to think of it, 'fragile beauty' is a terrible cliché, but never mind, it's pretty apt here I reckon. And cities are made for these little slivers of nature trying to push their way up through the monstrosities imagined by modern man... to which we are all addicted, of course.

Great photo. I just discovered, the other day, that those manhole covers with the rectangular holes are simply underground fire hydrants. The sapeurs-pompiers have a tool like a giant folding key that they insert to open the valves. http://pollyvousfrancais.blogspot.com/2007/06/les-sapeurs-pompiers.html

Keep taking such great shots!
