This is a good example of linking a hoary old monument (albeit the ultimate symbol of Paris!) with something unusual to breath life into a tired subject.
In fact, you'll notice that the tower doesn't impose at all, and seems something of an after thought. Dare I say that some people may even say, oh, what a nice picture of a horse, vaguely realising that his (or her) head is framed by a round thing, whilst not realising it's the Eiffel Tower. Or, giving people much more credit, they will realise that it's the Eiffel Tower but will see it as a picture of a horse first and think it's interesting that a horse should be next to it in the middle of Paris.
In any case, I'm talking about using classic monuments as props for your photos of something else, to give that unmistakable feeling of Paris without it being one of those awfully unoriginal 'yet another' pics of what we've all seen a million times before. It's always a wonderful challenge to try and be original, and that's one of the methods I use.
