The praying gentleman - was he aware of being photographed? I love the photo, and also the one of the Canadian bookshop. I thought that one is not allowed to fly a foreign flag in France ...

Hi Marilyn, these living statue types have a funny job, don't they? The ones who decide to have their eyes shut. Not being able to see their 'audience' officially, unless they cheat, until they hear the chink of a coin.

So they are aware all the time that someone 'could' be looking at them, but they're never sure!

As for the flag, I'm not sure about that, but this guy obviously thinks it's ok :-D
